Colorizing is coloring of black/white pics. The goal is to make it look as real as possible. It takes a while to get the real hang of it and make great colorizations, but I'll introduce you to the basics.
1. First, find a black and white photo. You can take any picture and desturate it, for that matter.
2. Check that at Image > Mode now is on RBG Color.
3. Make a new layer, Shift + Ctrl + N, and set it to Overlay. Choose one of the round, soft brushes. Choose a fitting skincolor, for example #, and draw over the skin. Change color to do eyebrows, cheecks and so on. Try with different color tones and Opacity on the brush.
