Get Started
FTP can be hard to understand at first, but it's easy peasy as soon as you get into it. I recommend SmartFTP, which you can download here.
1. Make sure you've gotten your log in information from your host. If you got your own domain, the adress will be ftp.yoursite.com, and you should already have your username and password. If you have a subdomain, tha address will be ftp.hosterssite.com, username will be subdomainname@hosterssite.com, and you should have gotten a password. Use this information to log in.
2. Now go to New > New Local Browser. Find the place where your files are.
3. To transfer the files, mark the files in the local browser, and drag them over to your FTP directory. If you have a domain, these files has to be in public html, and if you got a subdomain, they should be next to cgi-bin, not in it.
That's basically it!
