This tutorial will show you how to get a fancy snow effect on your graphics, like this icon example from icon tutorial;
1. Let's start in Photoshop or whatever you use. Finish the picture as you want it, with colorings, size and so on. Make sure all layers are merged when you're done.
2. Now, open this picture, or make your own 100x500 pixel layer with black background and white dots with the pain brush tool.
3. Open a 100x100 window, and paste the 'snow' into this. Don't merge! The 100x500 picture has five blocks; it fits into the 100x100 five times. Start with the bottom of the 100x500; move it up so that you see the bottom. Then paste a new layer of this, and move it a little further up every time. How many layers and which distance you put decide the speed of the snow. Have at least five layers.
4. Open animation shop, and post your blocks (the part of each layer which shows in the 100x100 image). Like this.
5. You should now have a animation with moving snow. Let's go back to your regular program. Paste each of the blocks you had in Animation Shop, and set them to Screen and sharpen them. Merge now.
6. Paste this into Animation Shop until you've used all your blocks of snow. And now it should be moving!
